Introducing a new Pre-Prep site

Welcome

James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) is proposing to move our Pre-Prep provision to sit alongside the established main school buildings on East Dulwich Grove.

This website tells you more about the plans and the reasons behind our proposals.

If you have any queries, please feel free to email or call the project team.

About

Situated on an attractive 22-acre site in the heart of Dulwich, JAGS offers an outstanding education, rooted in academic excellence and fully committed to the breadth of a holistic education both in and out of the classroom.

Founded by James Allen in 1741, JAGS has been inspiring and educating girls for over 270 years. Whilst proud of our heritage and status as the oldest independent girls’ school in London, we are very much a school of the present and the future. This is a school that offers a forward-thinking and contemporary education for over 1100 students aged 4 to 18.

In 1990, we extended our provision, opening a Pre-Prep department in the large Victorian building we own at 2 Dulwich Village. However, for some time now we have felt that the constrained nature of the existing Pre-Prep building will not meet the future needs and aspirations of the school, and we are very excited to launch this new project for the youngest pupils in our community.

The proposed site includes the two 1960s residential properties, 152 and 154 East Dulwich Grove, adjacent to the main school. We own both of these buildings, which are currently unoccupied.
